Dell 750W Platinum Hot-Swap PSU

The Dell 0RYMG6 is a 750 W redundant hot-plug power supply — 80 PLUS Platinum rated at up to ~94% efficiency — for 14th-generation Dell PowerEdge rack servers including the R440, R640, R740 and R740xd.

It slides into the server's hot-swap PSU bay for 1+1 redundancy, so a failed unit can be pulled and replaced without powering down the server. The supply auto-ranges across 100–240 VAC (50/60 Hz) and reports status, wattage and health to iDRAC via the PMBus interface. Platinum-class efficiency reduces both wall draw and waste heat versus older Bronze/Silver units, trimming rack cooling load.

0RYMG6 is the Dell factory part number (also cataloged as RYMG6); it corresponds to Dell's 750 W Platinum flex PSU family (model class D750E-S6). For redundancy, run two identical units — do not mix wattages or efficiency tiers in a redundant pair.

Redundancy rules

Install two identical units for 1+1 redundancy. Do not mix a 750 W unit with a 1100 W/1600 W unit or a different efficiency tier in the same server — the server will flag a PSU mismatch.
